Escaping Port Jervis Senior High School.
Posted On 02/26/2009

I'm a seventeen year old female student attending Port Jervis High school. For personal saftey reasons being there are six convicted sex offenders within my 2.5 mile city. I will only address my self as Bloooppp_92. I'm a creative young person with a sharp mind. I have a natural enthusiasm for learning. I have many brothers and sisters, and cousins, I am one of many and never alone...This blog is the first of many more to come, and is going to be my chronical as a work to escape Port Jervis Senior High School.

Bang bang shoot em up shoot em up! Yeah!

Well all I can say is that living in Port Jervis has been quite interesting. I've spent the better part of five years trying to get back out.  While attending schools in Port Jervis, one has been condemned, and the other has go been under going "construction". Previodusly this month my school has  participated in "Random acts of Kindness, It's a good way to recognize the little things we do for each other."

Random acts of Kindness don't give us ceilings in some parts of the un finnished school. Why do we have brand new screen T.Vs in the caferteria, (which aren't even being used), while theres still not enough text books to go around?

I'm running out of thoughts................

Recently I have been invited to Exploration program at Yale University. We'll see what happens with that. I have been working like a dog in order to Graduate. I'm in regular day school, as well as night. Nine hours of school, almost every day of the week.  Next school year, I will be attending Boces for Advertising Art and Design. If I complete two years I will be able to gain 15 college credits. When kids try to graduate early from my school, most of them are denied, after getting the credits needed for the diploma.

I have excelled in my Global  History Class to the point that was placed in AP U.S History and Government. (AP= Advanced Placement) " This course, designed for students of a social stidies achievement and motivation, provides a very detailed study of American History. The impact of culture in history is emphasized, and students are expected to enaged in a sophisticated degree of reading and writting. In addition, the historical and philosophical basis for American Consititutional Government and Policy  issues will be explored."

Students have the will power to make a positive  change with their school by accepting Rachel's challenge of kindness and compassion. after this powerful motivating experience, there was about 10 fights during the school hours. One incedientwas with two girls fighting of a guy. The second fight was my favorite, two boys were fighting, over a girl, during the fight, one kid ended up with his face smashed into a window. The third, was with two DV (Dalware Valley school) kids who transferred into our school. (Port Jervis High and DV schools do not get along) one student from Port Was jumped in our alomst finshed caferteria.  Another fight was between two girls agian, all time favorite reason for a fight. "your a whore with aids, herpes" Face smashed into concrete wall then wooden bench. I think Racchel's Challenge did a grat wonder.
